#1 Posted 21 August 2016 - 07:18 AM Good morning!So, I've seen about every different shade of pink, purple, red used to represent H-alpha emission nebula.I know H-alpha is monochrome and color assignment is arbitrary, but is there a universally accepted (among astrophotographers) RGB value for the tint that is aesthetically the most pleasing and thus accepting in the professional astrophotography community?Or does it truly come down to each astrophotographer's individual tastes?I know with mono CCDs, you can assign the H-Alpha data to an individual color channel by itself using a number of accepted palettes such as the SHO Hubble (red = H-alpha).But with a DSLR shooting color, that H-alpha information may get smeared all over the place depending on white balance correction etc...Thanks Edited by Daniel Dance, 21 August 2016 - 07:19 AM. Google images the Orion Nebula, you'll see an enormous variation in "simple" RGB images. Me know; would be grateful. This is one of my favorite plugins and hate to lose it. edit:OK; I believe because I was creating the mask with color to alpha, it didn't like something. With the flat (solid color fill that is) result, I ran the plugin again and it worked like it should. Instead of using color to alpha, if I just select the area outside the mask and delete it leaving mask, BRL worked as it should. Only but left is choosing gradient. To be honest, I never used this feature so no real loss to me.
