SITA announced (23-Sep-2020) Lufthansa Group integrated SITA's WorldTracer Self Service, contactless baggage tracking tool which enables passengers to report missing baggage from their mobile device. Following the launch of the service at Munich Airport, Lufthansa has now deployed WorldTracer at Frankfurt Airport and it will be rolled out globally in the coming months. The service will also soon be available to all SWISS and Austrian Airlines passengers. SITA estimated that the tool saves airlines on average USD10 for every mishandled baggage item reported by eliminating the need for additional infrastructure to manage the reporting of delayed bags. SITA's initial trials of the tool showed that around two thirds of travellers opted to use the service instead of visiting a baggage counter, the company stated. It was often possible to book at least 9 first class award seats on Lufthansa – in advance – on routes like Detroit and Mexico City to Frankfurt. That’s the period in which I started my award booking business on the side, and could easily book 5 or 6 multi-person itineraries in the early morning and late evening hours. Bad economic times were good for me!Lufthansa First Class During The Great RecessionCrashing the economy is a bad thing! But it’s not equally bad in all ways. In fact there are always some beneficiaries. It just so happens that one of those is likely to be the value of airline miles.Ironically, it could be foreign carriers that provide the most value to American frequent flyers as demand dries up. Tariffs tax international economic activity, and that’s likely to reduce demand for international flights and especially on non-U.S. airlines. Look for unsold seats to become available to partner airlines on foreign carriers, especially on routes that are ‘difficult to drop’ for non-economic reasons such as long haul flights to Washington, D.C. – on carriers like ANA, Qatar Airways, Etihad, Emirates and Saudia. To Munich and my return flight to Boston. Despite calling customer service twice for assistance, they were unwilling to help over the phone, which was incredibly frustrating and stressful. 2. **Delays**: Both flights experienced delays, further complicating my travel plans. Punctuality seems to be a significant area of concern for Lufthansa. 3. **Food Quality**: The meals provided were unhealthy, felt cheap, and lacked flavor. Given the airline’s reputation, I expected much better, especially on long-haul flights where meal quality can greatly enhance the travel experience. 4. **Beverage Service**: The beverage cups were disappointingly small and often not filled to capacity, leaving me feeling unsatisfied, particularly on lengthy flights where staying hydrated is essential. I chose Lufthansa based on positive reviews from good friends, but my experience has left me very dissatisfied. I will not be recommending this airline to anyone in the future. Overall, my direct flight experience was far from satisfactory, and I hope they address these issues to improve the experience for future passengers.I like entertainment on the plane once I got it to work. The touch screen really had a hard time responding to touch. Boarding was excruciatingly slow. Getting through passport control was bad enough but security had a line of us not moving at all while this team of security people took their time going through every item of one single passenger, not letting anybody else advance (only one lane open while the equipment was there for 2). I would have missed my connecting flight had it not been an hour late itself. I know the airport is not the responsibility of Lufthansa or Kayak but I mention it as the reason my experience was not great.I had to fly United where the flight crew was atrociousLufthansa only flew me to Larnaca. I had to find my own way from there, and am out of pocket for a ticket and hotel expensesBefore the flight I received an email from LH that our seat were changed to other comparable seats. At boarding however we found our reassigned “comparable” seats were directly by the toilet. They sure were no “comparable “ seats and we were quite disappointed!
