Hi, I downloaded the offline kit for BD Total Security 2017 (64 bit) and have tried every possible way to run it but the process just stays dormant in the Task Manager and then nothing happens throughout. I have tried this by after disabling my default antivirus (Windows Defender) & windows firewall. I tried scanning the system with updated Malwarebytes and then cleaning the registry with CCCleaner and also ran the New Bitdefender Uninstall tool, both in Safe Mode and Normal Mode but upon double clicking the installer.exe (ran with Admin rights, after extracting bitdefender_ts_21_64b) while disconnecting from the internet, no dialog box pops up. Surprisingly, in safe mode, upon double clicking installer.exe, it opens the Bitdefender installation dialog box but the next message I see is "You must run the setup in Normal Mode". This is highly frustrating and I am clueless as to what is could be possible cause, especially when my system is clean and virus free. I am running Windows 10, 64 bit, 8 GB RAM and have sufficient disk space. 0 Categories

Crapware has installed one or more symlinks or shortcuts called Pro Tools.exe. What you think you is a Pro Tools.exe is just that symlink or shortcut. Waves Studiorack does this crap with multiple DAWs and is known for causing exactly this problem. I have no idea if Waves uninstallers will remove all the symlinks/shortcuts correctly or not. But just delete those symlinks/shortcuts manually (and reinstall Pro Tools if needed). CCcleaner like tools will not know to remove these. Doing a full clean install of Windows would fix this, but I expect here the Windows install that was done was on the existing volume which kept the errant symlinks/shortcuts.You can google more about working with symlinks and shortcuts if they are new to you.How Waves decided to package this seems just a bad bad idea. 12-20-2023, 11:21 AM Moderator Join Date: Jan 2003 Location: Tampere, Finland Posts: 25,255 Re: Pro Tools won't load (no splash screen) Quote: Originally Posted by Darryl Ramm Waves crapware Oohhh... and I get bashed when I say WavesHell __________________ JanneWhat we do in life, echoes in eternity.

Malware is the bane of the Internet. Seriously, few things on the web are as dangerous as contracting malware, and few things are as time-consuming as the process of malware removal. Avoid at all cost. But here's the thing about malware: It's not enough to install a top-notch security suite. You'll have to change your bad security habits and start doing what the experts do. And if there's one habit that you must kill as soon as possible, it's the carefree downloading of software from any and all sites. Today, free software download sites are one of the most common sources of bloatware and even malware. 1. CNET Download Go around and ask people what they think of CNET Download -- the site formerly known as Download.com -- and most of them will probably tell you to stay away. You should heed that advice if you know what's good for you. CNET Download has been around since 1996, making it 20 years old at the time of this writing. It used to be the most popular download destination on the web, but in those two decades, the site has really gone downhill. In 2011, the site introduced a download manager program called CNET TechTracker that was allegedly full of toolbars and bloatware, which was so bad that it was eventually flagged by security suites. Then in 2015, malware was found to be bundled with their installer files. Can you download files safely from CNET Download? Yes, you can, but it's risky. Few people trust CNET Download anymore and using the site is akin to crossing a minefield. Your next step could be your last. 2. Tucows Tucows is another free download site in the vein of CNET Download. What's funny is that Tucows is actually older than CNET Download -- by about three years. Started in 1993, Tucows is one of the oldest download sites in the world. In 2008, Tucows announced that they would be shifting focus away from software downloads to diversify their business. It would go on to launch the Ting mobile service network, among other business ventures. Since shifting focus, Tucows has been involved in a few malware-related incidents. For example, in 2010, it served malvertisements to visitors. And in 2015, Emsisoft found that Tucows served the most potentially unwanted programs with its downloads. We recommend staying away. There are better sites out there with more. Fontexplorer X Pro 3.1.1 Crack FontExplorer X Pro 3.1.1 Crack Installation of CCCleaner using Serial key of CCCleaner Download Serial key CCCleaner 3.7.0. I Hope. Thanks to the modders/Developers! I followed the way to do this in another thread which made me do stuff with the registry and couldnt get it to to work no matter what and I followed it to a "T" and it just didnt work at all. YOURS however worked and was super simple to do! Only thing I could add is if anyone is looking to try it, download Iobit Uninstaller 9 program for free and uninstall your previous drivers with it for it will also remove all the residual registry items, or you can use cccleaner, but that requires to open more programs to do the same thing. But I did try with the 2.80 and 2.82 drivers, only

Click and choose Send to>Desktop (create shortcut).Just ignore the Waves Offloader icon in the Start menu and remove it from the taskbar. However, if you can't open PT straigh from Programs>Avid>Pro Tools.exe that would be odd.Did you uninstall the previous version of Pro Tools before re-installing the new version? If that didn't work you might have to uninstall and do a quick CCleaner scan, clear the registry only of Avid or Waves files that aren't pointing to anything & then re-install Pro Tools. If anything, the proper shortcut should appear on the Desktop after reinstalling Pro Tools. As a separate note: I just opened Waves Central and see an update is available so I'd recommend updating that if it's installed. Technology news publisher Cnet Inc. yesterday gobbled up the Web's leading comparison-shopping service, MySimon.com, in a $708 million deal that shows media companies continuing to seek their share of the e-commerce pie.The Cnet name has come to stand for technology information on the Web, where it runs the most heavily visited computer information site. The company announced that in addition to buying MySimon.com--a software agent that compares online prices--it is also changing its name to Cnet Networks Inc. as part of an effort to expand beyond technology news."We think commerce is a massive opportunity on the Web," said Halsey M. Minor, chairman and chief executive of Cnet. "What we have seen over the last six months is an explosion of new commerce categories emerging on the Web--things like dog food, diamonds and beauty products. We believe there needs to be one place people can come and find any product day or night on the Web."Minor said its own Web sites, Cnet.com and News.com, were too well known for their technology focus to be able to morph into one-stop shopping services for all product categories. So Cnet surveyed the fast-growing online shopping services and struck a deal with the one that had the highest traffic and growth during the holiday season.Cnet agreed to swap about 11.3 million shares of Cnet stock for the privately held MySimon.com. Cnet stock closed down 50 cents a share yesterday, at $62.18 3/4.MySimon was one of the better known of the dozens of Web sites that have sprung up in recent years to let people type in the name of a product and compare prices at many different Web sites. MySimon's shopping bot--or software robot--searches 2,006 online merchants and covers hundreds of millions of products. In December, the site drew 1.96 million visitors. On average, each spent 8.4 minutes looking at its pages, according to Media Metrix Inc., which operates a Web audience measurement service.Cnet's technology news site already has a comparison shopping service for computer products, and it has a variety of editorial and user reviews for each product as well as price comparisons.
