Dish Anywhere is an app you can install on your phone or Amazon Firestick. You can even log on to dishanywhere.com on a computer and watch your channels and recorded programs. I guess I will have to break down and let them put in the Hopper. I know our Dish is not connected to the internet currently. I currently have dishes old technology.Don't know what a firestick is I guess that I am way behind the times. I guess I will have to break down and let them put in the Hopper. I use the firesticks for televisions we don't use often. This allows me to have Dish programming at each one WITHOUT paying rent on a Dish receiver for each one, via the Dish Anywhere app. So I just pay rent on the Hopper and a wireless Joey (and the Wally in the RV).Firesticks also allow you to have smart tv capabilities on older tvs that have at least a usb port. The streaming is coming directly over the internet to your tvs through the Firestick which I'm assuming is connected to the internet near your rig or through your phone. As far as the Hopper which is located an hour away, something is wrong with that dish as far as receiving the signal or sending it over the internet. How fast is the internet at the family home? Are there a lot of devices hooked up to it? All that can affect speed.I've learned a lot Today's top Dish For My Rv offer is Get 25% Off at Dish For My Rv; Our best Dish For My Rv coupon code will save you 35%; Shoppers have saved an average of $30.83 with our Dish For My Rv promo codes; The last time we posted a Dish For My Rv discount code was on July 04 2025 (7 months ago) About streaming since we got 5G and disconnected ATT Uverse TV. One- by pressing the little tv icon on the firestick remote (on mine it's next to the + volume key), you can get lots of channels. You should have a 'freevee' icon that is an Amazon product that does the same thing but it's icon based. Two - and this is the important one. You can get local tv by downloading the major channels app... CBS, ABC, NBS, FOX and PBS apps from the Google Play store to your Firestick (or smart tv). They won't play all live tv, but it'll play the news and some programs. Our PBS plays all local tv. Some of these apps even have additional channels that are 'unlocked.' Now some of these apps will unlock all local tv if you have a 'local tv provider'. It's possible that the Hopper fulfills that requirement, but I just don't know. Another free app that I like is Pluto TV. Also if you have SiriusXM in your car, the SiriusXM app allows you to play all their channels on your tv. I can even stream YouTube from my phone or computer directly to the tv.Still learning.... have 6 tvs in our house and 1 in our RV. I use the firesticks for televisions we don't use often.
