Wind-up-merchant. Posted March 25, 2024, 6:05 p.m. The director of Final Fantasy 14 has sparked renewed rumors of a Final Fantasy 9 remake.Speaking during PAX East, Final Fantasy 14 director Naoki 'Yoshi-P' Yoshida announced Final Fantasy 9-themed extras for the Collector’s Edition and Digital Collector’s Edition of Final Fantasy 14 expansion Dawntrail, including Final Fantasy 9’s Ark summon as a Final Fantasy 14 mount and a wind-up Princess Garnet minion (Garnet, aka Dagger, is one of the main characters of Final Fantasy 9). If you pre-order Dawntrail, you get a wind-up Zidane minion. Zidane is the protagonist of Final Fantasy 9.Final Fantasy 9-themed bonuses for Final Fantasy 14 wouldn’t be much to write home about on their own, but it’s what Yoshi-P said on-stage alongside their announcement that has truly set tongues wagging. "You may have noticed a lot of Final Fantasy 9 references here, but the reason is a secret,” he said before zipping his mouth shut.Final Fantasy 9 remake rumors have swirled around Square Enix ever since the unannounced game emerged as part of a 2021 Nvidia leak of upcoming titles. The list, confirmed legit by Nvidia but potentially outdated, includes a number of Square Enix games the company has either announced or released since, such as the Chrono Cross remaster, Kingdom Hearts 4, and of course the Final Fantasy 7 remake for PC. However, Final Fantasy 9 remake and Final Fantasy Tactics, both of which are on the leaked list of games, have yet to materialize. Just a few months before the Nvidia leak, in June 2021, a Final Fantasy 9 animated series was reported to be in development, although we haven’t heard anything about it in the years since.Rather than a Final Fantasy 9 remake, Yoshi-P may instead have teased a crossover event between Final Fantasy 14 and Final Fantasy 9, or hinted at the reemergence of the Final Fantasy 9 animated series. But that hasn’t stopped fans from getting excited about the prospect of seeing the 2000 PSone classic role-playing game reborn.Square Enix is of course busy remaking Final Fantasy 7, with the second entry in the trilogy, Rebirth, recently released. Square Enix is now looking ahead to the final part of the trilogy, which based on the current pace of development may not be finished until roughly 2028. If that ends up being the case, the third part of the Final Fantasy 7 Remake may well be a PlayStation 6 launch title, if Sony's comments about the PS5 being in the "latter stage" of its life cycle are anything to go by.Wesley is the UK News Editor for IGN. Without this, you will not be able to start the game because the game can't play the Eidos Interactive Presents movie. To download the codec, visit this site: you'll need patches, although this is well known in the entire Final Fantasy VII gaming community. The best site to get the patches is: (click downloads on the left and get the 1.02 patch, the chocobo patch, and the mini games patcher. First install the 1.02 patch, then the chocobo patch, and then the mini games patcher in that exact order).Last, the save files located in the default directory C:\Program Files (x86)\Square Soft, Inc\Final Fantasy VII\save will not be changed when you save in-game unless you run Final Fantasy VII as an administrator. To run Final Fantasy VII as an administrator without having to constantly right click on the icon and click "Run as administrator," right click on the Final Fantasy VII icon, click "Properties" and then the "Compatibility" tab. At the bottom, you should see a checkbox next to the words "Run this program as an administrator." Check that box and from now on, every time you run Final Fantasy VII, it will run as an administrator. Most of this is well known except the first step because that only applies to Windows 7, so I thought I should let you know. I did all this and it ran perfectly on the Windows 7 Release Candidate, meaning it should run perfectly on the Windows 7 retail version.

My life changed when I first played Final Fantasy VII in the late ‘90s. The narrative-focused RPG chronicling the struggle of misfit adventurers on a quest to save the world held my attention like little else. Its slow-burn story told through text boxes on pre-rendered backgrounds, all backed by a soaring melodic score, was unlike any piece of media I encountered before. Before the decade was up, Final Fantasy VIII arrived and delivered more of the same for me. In the early 2000s, however, Final Fantasy changed, and I thought I’d never experience that kind of game for the first time again. That is, until I fired up Fantasian Neo Dimension and was instantly transported back to the late ‘90s. Developed by Mistwalker and produced by the father of Final Fantasy, Hironobu Sakaguchi, Fantasian was originally locked behind Apple Arcade’s iOS and Mac ecosystem when it launched in April of 2021. Like Final Fantasy titles of the late ‘90s on the original PlayStation, it features a fixed camera perspective and 3D character models animated over pre-made backgrounds. It also features a soundtrack written by legendary Final Fantasy composer Nobuo Uematsu. Three years after its initial release, Fantasian arrives on modern consoles and PC via Neo Dimension, an updated version with spruced-up graphics, difficulty adjustments, some tweaks to the gameplay to adapt its mobile origins, and voice acting. Read More: How Long Is Fantasian Neo Dimension? While Fantasian is a video game produced in the 21st century for mobile platforms, it is eerily capable of transporting you back to the simpler times of Final Fantasy 7, 8, and 9. This is especially the case if you mute the new voice acting and

Final Fantasy 7 Remake launched in April 2020 on PlayStation 4, before the enhanced Final Fantasy 7 Remake Intergrade launched on PS5 in June 2021, and on PC in December 2021. It has yet to release on Xbox.IGN's Final Fantasy 7 Remake review returned an 8/10: "Final Fantasy 7 Remake’s dull filler and convoluted additions can cause it to stumble, but it still breathes exciting new life into a classic while standing as a great RPG all its own."It’s worth comparing Final Fantasy 7 Remake’s sales figure to other recently released games in the long-running series. PS5 exclusive Final Fantasy 16 sold three million copies during launch week in June. Square Enix has yet to issue an updated figure for that game.Final Fantasy 15, which launched on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One in November 2016, sold 5 million units in its first day. As of May 2022, six years after release, Final Fantasy 15 had sold 10 million units worldwide, making it one of the best-selling Final Fantasy games of all time. Final Fantasy 7 Remake is the
