In Virtualbox version 4.3.26 I would like to install Ubuntu 16.04 client. The network configuration is adapter 1 : bridged adapter name : eth0adapter 2 : NATWith this configuration I do have internet access, but not to my local network.I tried : static-ip-in-virtualbox-machine-with-ubuntu-16-04 but when setting to host-only, I was not able to select any thing.I have read Virtualbox manual chapter 6 but could not find a solution.I have tried how to rename a network card but adding a rule did not work for me.In my other virtualbox clients I had to add in the client (Ubuntu) interfaces file (/etc/network/interfaces) with the result :# interfaces(5) file used by ifup(8) and ifdown(8)auto loiface lo inet loopbackauto eth1iface eth1 inet staticdns-nameservers 192.168.1.70 192.168.1.1address 192.168.1.66gateway 192.168.1.1And in the virtualbox network setting adapter 1 : bridged adapter, name : eth0With this configuration I have access to my local network and Internet with my other (Ubuntu 14.04) Virtualbox clients. The name system in Ubuntu 16.04 has altered, no eth0 anymore but by checking using ifconfig :me@vBox1b-client:~$ ifconfigenp0s3 Link encap:Ethernet HWaddr 08:00:27:9e:aa:c9 inet addr:192.168.1.78 Bcast:192.168.1.255 Mask:255.255.255.0 inet6 addr: fe80::a00:27ff:fe9e:aac9/64 Scope:Link UP BROADCAST RUNNING MULTICAST MTU:1500 Metric:1 RX packets:41 errors:0 dropped:0 overruns:0 frame:0 TX packets:84 errors:0 dropped:0 overruns:0 carrier:0 collisions:0 txqueuelen:1000 RX bytes:4304 (4.3 KB) TX bytes:8988 (8.9 KB)enp0s8 Link encap:Ethernet HWaddr 08:00:27:17:a7:e6 inet addr:10.0.3.15 Bcast:10.0.3.255 Mask:255.255.255.0 inet6 addr: fe80::a16b:7a82:bf0b:7247/64 Scope:Link UP BROADCAST RUNNING MULTICAST MTU:1500 Metric:1 RX packets:4 errors:0 dropped:0 overruns:0 frame:0 TX packets:67 errors:0 dropped:0 overruns:0 carrier:0 collisions:0 txqueuelen:1000 RX bytes:1328 (1.3 KB) TX bytes:7953 (7.9 KB)lo Link encap:Local Loopback inet addr:127.0.0.1 Mask:255.0.0.0 inet6 addr: ::1/128 Scope:Host UP LOOPBACK RUNNING MTU:65536 Metric:1 RX packets:10 errors:0 dropped:0 overruns:0 frame:0 TX packets:10 errors:0 dropped:0 overruns:0 carrier:0 collisions:0 txqueuelen:1 RX bytes:534 (534.0 B) TX bytes:534 (534.0 B)So with this info I changed my interfaces file into :# interfaces(5) file used by ifup(8) and ifdown(8)auto loiface lo inet loopbackauto enp0s3iface enp0s3 inet staticdns-nameservers 192.168.1.70 192.168.1.1address 192.168.1.66gateway 192.168.1.1I rebooted and indeed I had access to my local network, but not to Internet anymore. So in Virtualbox server I wanted to changed in adapter 1 with name : eth0 to enp0s3 but I could not change the name at all.The DNS seems to be ok.Local :ping mylocal.comPING mylocal.com (192.168.1.73) 56(84) bytes of data.64 bytes from 192.168.1.73: icmp_seq=1 ttl=64 time=0.961 msThe DNS can find the local IP address and the IP address does response.Internet (glocal):ping nu.nlPING nu.nl (62.69.166.254) 56(84) bytes of data. From 192.168.1.66 icmp_seq=1 Destination Host UnreachableAlso global the DNS can find the IP address, but the IP address does not response. The DNS server which is used :nslookup hostServer: 192.168.1.70Address: 192.168.1.70#53There might be a conflict with Virtualbox MAC addresses, so I refreshed them, in Virtualbox manager, but without result.I have three question :How it is. iNet - Network Scanner, free download. iNet - Network Scanner 3.9.1: iNet - Network Scanner Discover security risks and maintain control over your networkiNet Network Scanner 3.1.7 download

This...iNet - explore your network!Find out about security risks and keep your network under control. With iNet you know exactly what's going on! This easy to use App outlines a computer network even to the unexperienced user.iNet provides you with information about networks your iPhone or iPod touch is connected to. Its very easy and user friendly design even allows the unexperienced user to get a profound and understandable overview of a network and the running services.Which devices are connected to my network? Are they online? Which services do they provide? Does somebody use my wifi network without my knowledge? These and other questions answers iNet fast and simple. In the current release of iNet we implemented the following features: Network scan Ping Bonjour browser Portscan Device info Wake on Lan Sleep on Lan (Macintosh only) Extensive help section Send scan results via emailScan Network:iNet shows the devices connected to your local network, e. g. a computer or router, along with their name, IP and vendor. iNet discovers and distinguishes between windows and macintosh computers with different icons. For most Apple Computers the particular computer model can be seen. Find out the name, vendor and IP of the connected devices as well as the number of running Bonjour services on that particular device. A classic portscan on the choosen device can also be performed. The technology used in iNet scans on a very low level, therefore one can even find machines that don't want to be found, for instance a Mac OS X computer running in stealth mode.Ping:Ping is a computer network tool used to test whether a particular host is reachable across an IP network or not. The ping section in iNet enables you to find out if an IP exists (if its ping service is enabled; otherwise you will get no response :-)). For your convenience we added a bookmark function to store often needed addresses.Bonjour browser:Bonjour, also known as zero-configuration networking, enables automatic discovery of computers, devices, and services on IP networks. Bonjour uses industry standard IP protocols to allow devices to automatically discover each other without the need to enter IP addresses or configure DNS servers. The Bonjour-Browser in iNet scans the connected local network for Bonjour services, detecting any hardware that ist connected via the Bonjour protocol (for instance computer, router, printer, ) and any software running Bonjour services, e. g. iTunes or Filemaker.Wake on lan:The outstanding feature of our implementation is that it is very easy to use and simple to setup. I followed this guide to setup openvpn on my home network.I accidentally downloaded ubuntu 12.10 at first and without noticing, I went ahead and followed the guide...Then I did some stuff from here:push "redirect-gateway def1"iptables -t nat -A POSTROUTING -s 10.8.0.0/24 -o eth0 -j MASQUERADEto enable browsing. OpenVPN was fully function. By that I mean, I was able to remote in (access internal services) and mask my IP when browsing from the outside. Then I realized that I wanted ubuntu 12.04 so I followed the same process on a new install. Now the problem is that the DNS does not resolve.I noticed that downloading openvpn downloaded resolvconf which I uninstalled and attempted to go about this manually.
