ControllerMate is a system that generates keyboard, mouse, and MIDI activity in response to triggers from gamepads, keypads, MIDI controllers, and other general-purpose input devices. It allows many types of devices to be used with software that would normally be compatible only with a keyboard, mouse, or MIDI source. ControllerMate's internal devices generate activity based on a system of building blocks. Some building blocks respond to controls on input devices, other blocks trigger activity on ControllerMate's internal mouse and keyboard. Building blocks that implement timers, apply simple or complex logic, or perform basic math can also be created. Each individual building block performs a basic task, combinations of blocks can perform complex and creative functions. ControllerMate is comprised of the ControllerMate application and the ControllerMateHelper background application. The ControllerMate application is used to view and edit the current building blocks and driver configurations. ControllerMateHelper is a background-only helper that is active only when ControllerMate is not running. When ControllerMate quits, the helper loads and implements the current programming. Except for the following differences, the behavior of ControllerMate and ControllerMateHelper is identical: When ControllerMate is running, the Mouse Button building block does not generate the Button Down and Button Up actions for the left, right, and middle mouse buttons. When ControllerMateHelper is running, all Mouse Button actions are available to all buttons. When ControllerMate is running, a Virtual Mouse will not generate button clicks with for the left, right, and middle mouse buttons. When ControllerMateHelper is running, a Virtual Mouse will generate button clicks for all mouse buttons. ControllerMate also includes a basic mouse and keyboard driver that is used for devices that do not use a manufacturer-specific or other custom driver. This driver can be configured to redefine controls such that they behave like different controls, or have no behavior at all. When used with a mouse, the driver can be assigned a custom mouse acceleration curve.

The DPI up and down buttons to key bindings that you can use in-game. To do that, we'll assign the DPI buttons to a key on your keyboard. Once you've downloaded and installed Logitech G HUB, the program will automatically scan and recognize all compatible devices. Open G HUB and click on your mouse. Don't click on the gear icon, as it'll bring you to Device Settings. Once you're in the mouse menu, click on "Assignments" on the left menu. Click on "Keys," then choose a key you never use and drag and drop it on the DPI button on the right side. I used the "[" and "]" keys, as they're almost never used in games. After assigning the buttons, you can continue using the keys on the keyboard as usual; the DPI buttons on your mouse will simply act as if you pressed the assigned keys. You can then go into any game or program that allows you to change input mapping and assign an action to the keys you used on the mouse buttons. As an example of how to use your new mouse buttons, bind the front button for pings in multiplayer games. Its convenient placement enables you to simultaneously press the left button when attacking an enemy. You Can Still Keep a DPI Button With DPI Cycle Don't want to lose your on-the-fly DPI switch? The good news is that you can still keep most of the functionality by moving it elsewhere. In the "Assignments" menu, go to "System" and replace "Onboard Profile Cycle" with "DPI Cycle." You don't really need a button for profile cycle anyway, as you can configure G Hub to switch profiles automatically when you launch a game or app. Some gamers have a love-hate relationship with Logitech's dedicated DPI buttons, mainly because they're close to the left mouse button and are easy to accidentally click. But if you repurpose these buttons for actions that are actually useful, you can get the most from your mouse.

Recommended Posts I’m having a bit of some trouble here trying to setup my Xinmo controller buttons in LB and BB. The controller works just fine in windows. I can even move my mouse pointer with my joystick. I simply trying to navigate BB with my controller. In fact when I start a game like sf the buttons are already mapped. My controller works just fine when playing games. It’s just that I’m not able to control BB with it. Funny thing also is that LB and BB sees the controller but I just can’t setup any buttons. Any help is appreciated. Thanks Quote Did you go into BB settings and map the controls? By default there are some things mapped but not all joysticks/controllers work instantly without manual mapping. Not sure if that unit replicates keystrokes or buttons from a gamepad so you need to go into the keyboard mapping or controller mapping and do so if you have not. Quote Author Posted September 4, 2024 I guess I should have mentioned that, I’ve tried to setup buttons in BB settings but as I’m trying to map buttons. I press the button/s on my xinmo controller and nothing happens. I get no response from the controller. That’s my problem. But when I go to windows settings to check the controller everything seems to work just fine. LB and BB recognize my controller but I have no button functionality nor controller movement. I can navigate BB with my keyboard and start and a game and then my xinmo controller works fine. Quote Which Xinmo unit do you have. They have a version that the encoder replicated keyboard keys and ones that replicate a gamepad (xinput/dinput)? You mentioned your mouse moves when you move the joystick so I am going to assume its they keyboard version. If so you need to go into keyboard mapping option in BB settings. Quote Author Posted September 5, 2024 Went to BB settings and still no luck when trying to map the buttons. It's like I can assign no keyboard buttons to the Xinmo controller.

Image Credit: Creatas Images/Creatas/Getty Images The touchpad and mouse buttons on laptop computers provide a built-in method for computer navigation when an external mouse is not available. The touchpad and mouse buttons are often found directly below the keyboard, which causes problems for some laptop users. When typing, some users inadvertently tap the touchpad or mouse buttons, causing the cursor to relocate to a different part of the screen. This causes error in the documents the user is typing. To prevent this from happening, you can disable the touchpad and mouse buttons. Step 1 Click the "Start" button and open "Control Panel." A list of options will appear in the window. Step 2 Choose "Mouse" to open the "Mouse Properties" window. Step 3 Choose the "Device Select" tab to open a different list of options in the window. Step 4 Mark "Disable Device" under "Touchpad Buttons" to turn off the laptop's mouse buttons. If you want to turn off the touchpad as well, select "Disable Device" under "Touchpad."
