This spec sheet I shared is created by FreeOffice cause I have the full version installed on VM right now. But I assumed VM specs will do you no good so I shared this instead. Subhasiscgr Posts: 11 Joined: Mon Apr 06, 2020 3:00 pm Why is this slower than Freeoffice? Hi. I am a long time FreeOffice user. I finally bought the paid version in the recent sale. And the very first thing I noticed is that selecting/deleting text is very slow on certain documents. I uninstalled Softmaker Office 2018 and went back to FreeOffice 2018 (cuz it is not possible to keep both) and the lag disappeared. I tested with the same documents.I am pretty sure certain formatting is causing this but figuring this out has been problematic.I installed the demo on a fresh Win 10 VM to ensure that it is not my OS, and sure enough, it is slow on the VM as well.Does anyone have any idea what to look for? subhasiscgr Posts: 11 Joined: Mon Apr 06, 2020 3:00 pm Re: Why is this slower than Freeoffice? For some reason this document uses autoshapes instead of text boxes. But I can not recreate this issue on a blank. And it is still blazing fast on FreeOffice.Actions that are slow: Deleting, Selecting text using shift+arrow, Typing.I attached the sample file. I converted it into a lorem ipsum document so it can be publicly shared. Please share your sminfo file so that we can investigate this issue further.
