What's that?Need For Speed is a series of racing video games developed by Canadian based company EA Black Box and published by Electronic Arts. The series debuted with 'The Need for Speed', followed by 14 more titles, including the highly popular 'NFS Most Wanted'. The current game is 'NFS Undercover'.Now, NFS are developing 3 titles, 'World Online' for the PC. 'Shift' for the XBOX360, PS3, PSP and PC, and obviously NFS Nitro, for the Wii and DS. We will be focusing only on the Wii.Under development is another NFS game, with no information whatsoever about it.2. What's the Information so far?Need for Speed Nitro is being developed by EA Montreal, who have previous experience with Nintendo titles. In the new franchising model for the series adopted by EA, Nitro takes its place aiming at casual gamers rather than the hardcore fans of the series and is also Nintendo exclusive. NFS Nitro features a large catalogue of customizable licensed vehicles. The cars shown so far are the Audi R8, Lamborghini Reventon, 69” Dodge Charger R/T and Nissan Skyline.In NFS Nitro, there are 5 cities, including Rio. You start off there, trying to show some skills, and then you get invited to other cities across the globe. This, to me, indicated there probably will be no free roam.The types of race modes available include sprints, circuits and knock out. There hopefully should be drift too, but there is no confirmation. Races will have up to 12 players.Nitro is a big thing in this game, and you earn it by drifting, drafting, and have two tanks, so one can be charging while the other is being used.
